For those not familiar with amateur or Ham Radio,  VE9DWF is a amateur radio license "call sign" or ID.  So why use this as my opening logo?  Well to answer that question,  I also use it as my email address, license plate number, all online internet chatting name, online gaming, etc, etc, etc.  

Being a licensed amateur radio operator here in New Brunswick, Canada,  I decided to purchase a little online web space for myself. Hence the creation of this web page, to show and share my hobbies of interest:  amateur radio, computers, and the internet.

I am offering to the many other 'hams' out there room on this server if they are looking for a spot to post articles, freeware software or any other item relating to amateur radio.

MY QSL CARD

My QSL card or "station post card" which is sent to other amateur stations after having a QSO (contact) with them (upon request).  This is used to confirm that contact between the two stations took place, plus having a permanent record of the QSO.  Many amateur operators collect these cards for the purpose of trying to get as many contacts from as many countries as possible.  The cards are also exchanged between two stations as a little souvenir for each operator of the QSO.  They are generally used with long distance "H.F." contacts more so then with local contacts.

 My QTH or "location  info" is as follows.  I am in the country of  CANADA , in the province of NEW BRUNSWICK, in a small town in the north part of the province called DALHOUSIE . 

Dalhousie is a small industrial town with its main employment being of a paper mill,  a chemical plant, and a power generating station.   Also summer and winter tourism is being promoted in the area.  Its location (next to the Bay of Chaleur) offers great beaches and camping areas,  plus with its snowy winter offers great winter activities as well.  You can find out more information about my QTH by clicking on the above links.

On the VHF band the local provincial IRG network repeater VE9VDR is on 147.390 (+) MHz with a network access code of #170.

The provincial  IRG network can be access from the Nova Scotia backbone, which is connected into the IRLP & IPARN network.

The local VHF repeater in Dalhousie is VE9DNB, which is linked into the echolink system. Look for VE9DNB-R on echolink to connect to the repeater, or use node number 49791 with you DTMF.
